Product Overview

The i.MX8MP OPTIMA SoM is a compact and high-performance System on Module powered by the NXP i.MX 8M Plus processor. Featuring a Quad-Core Arm® Cortex®-A53 processor running up to 1.8GHz along with a dedicated Cortex®-M7 real-time core, it delivers an optimal balance of processing performance, power efficiency, and advanced multimedia capabilities for embedded applications. The module integrates high-speed LPDDR4 RAM and eMMC flash storage, along with a comprehensive set of connectivity and multimedia interfaces, including Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0/2.0, MIPI DSI, HDMI, LVDS, MIPI CSI, CAN FD, SDIO, SPI, I²C, UART, SAI, and GPIOs. With an integrated 2.25 TOPS NPU for edge AI and machine learning applications, the i.MX8MP OPTIMA SoM is designed for industrial automation, HMI, medical devices, smart retail, machine vision, building automation, and IoT edge applications, providing a production-ready platform that reduces design complexity, accelerates product development, and shortens time-to-market.
